From the 1st of July, Old Town Chambers is transitioning to Autograph Collection, and The Edinburgh Grand will become a Luxury Collection, both Marriott brands. Both properties will still be called Old Town Chambers and The Edinburgh Grand, respectively. Abbey Strand Apartments will operate independently.

For The Edinburgh Grand, Luxury Collection is a portfolio of world-renowned hotels and resorts offering unique, authentic experiences and curated details that evoke lasting memories.

For Old Town Chambers, Autograph Collection is a luxury group of unique, independent hotels under the Marriott umbrella, each with its own character and style.

The transition date for both properties is the 1st July 2025.

All reservations made with Cheval Collection will remain valid, including rates and amenities promised at the time of booking. Guests do not need to take any action, however you will be contacted by the new operators. After the transition your booking will be managed through Marriott’s reservations system.

No, all services and amenities will remain as they are. At Old Town Chambers, no major renovations are planned, but minor updates may occur. At The Edinburgh Grand, there will be updates and developments made to the basement level gym and wellness space.

Points can only be collected if a booking is made directly through a Marriott channel. Bookings made with Cheval Collection are not eligible for Bonvoy points.
