International travel to the United Kingdom
A ‘traffic light’ system is now in effect from the 17th of May for international arrivals into England. Visitors from so-called ‘green‘ countries will not have to quarantine on arrival, but will still be expected to present a negative covid-19 test result before departure, and take a private PCR covid-19 test following their arrival.
All passengers arriving from a country on the ‘amber’ list must self isolate for 10 days and take two covid-19 tests on days 2 and 8. This can be done in a Cheval apartment and we can assist with any requirements you may need with respect to grocery deliveries and supplies. Full details are available here. It is possible to reduce the isolation period if you are isolating in England by taking a test five days after your arrival. This must be done using a private test provider and entirely at your own cost. Full details on the ‘test to release’ regime are available here. This scheme is not available for those in mandatory quarantine at any of the government-designated hotels.
Residents arriving from a red list country will be required to purchase a quarantine package covering a hotel stay and two covid-19 tests. Non-residents arriving from or having transited through a red list country will not be permitted entry.
SCOTLAND ONLY: Quarantine hotel packages must be purchased by all arrivals directly into Scotland from outside the Common Travel Area (comprising United Kingdom, Ireland, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands).
Cheval Residences in Edinburgh remain open for any length or type of stay, closely following government guidelines and implementing all precautionary measures necessary. As of the 17th May, shops, hairdressers, gyms, museums, tourist attractions and hospitality (restaurants and pubs) have reopened in Scotland subject to prevailing covid safety rules and restrictions. You are also more than welcome to organise deliveries directly to your apartment and our App has a list of services and restaurants in the vicinity of your Residence.
Cheval Residences in London remain open for any length or type of stay, closely following government guidelines and implementing all precautionary measures necessary. As of the 17th May, shops, hairdressers, gyms, museums, tourist attractions and hospitality (restaurants and pubs) have reopened in England subject to prevailing covid safety rules. You are also more than welcome to organise deliveries directly to your apartment and our App has a list of services and restaurants in the vicinity of your Residence.
Cheval Collection has increased precautionary measures to protect guests and staff during the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. We advise guests and staff to be stay abreast of all current health and government advice, specifically NHS advice and UK government advice. Please note the advice for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland differs from that issued in England.
Anyone who chooses to book one of our apartments can expect the full support of our colleagues and will be able to take advantage of the following:
- Regular housekeeping service dependent on length of stay
- Coordination of any deliveries you choose to receive, whether that be grocery, restaurant deliveries or parcels
- Virtual direct contact with our teams using Cheval’s App (available for both Apple and Android devices)
We continue to be vigilant with respect to guests staying with us and have procedures in place to identify and respond to anyone who reports symptoms commonly identified with COVID-19. Cheval has increased health and safety precautionary measures in its Residences and offices including increasing the frequency of cleaning so that public fixtures like door handles and lift switches are regularly sanitised. Apartments will be appropriately sealed to signify the rigorous apartment sanitisation process is complete.
Cheval Collection has also introduced hand sanitisers throughout its properties including on reception for guests, in apartment welcome packs, in bathrooms and in offices. Hand sanitisers are now also available by keypad entry systems for staff.
