Castle of Lights:
Expect wonder, enchantment and a spectacle of colour this festive season as Edinburgh Castle becomes the ‘Castle of Light’ once again. The iconic landmark will be illuminated with diverse tales from Scotland’s past.
Look forward to stunning visuals, state of the art lighting installations and Rex, the famous red lion, back to guide you. This year he’s got some new friends with him to help you explore the castle’s hidden treasures. Watch as the untold history of this iconic landmark illuminates the very walls that witnessed it unfold. A magical experience for all the family – prepare to be dazzled!
Edinburgh Zoo Christmas Lights:
Make your evenings merry and bright this festive season with a magical journey through Edinburgh Zoo! A spectacular light trail will take you on a journey to discover the magic of Christmas spirit and Santa’s time at the zoo. A variety of food and drink offers will be available throughout the event, including hot and cold food, drinks and snacks.
Christmas at the Botanics:
Head to the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh and discover sparkling tunnels of light and dancing waterside reflections. The Royal Botanic Garden will undergo its festive makeover, opening on November 25 and running for 32 nights for friends and family to follow an outdoor twilight trail and enjoy a brand new festive finale.
The latest installations confirmed for this year include Digital Rain, Fireflies in the Wood and the cascading Sea of Light.
This year, 62 trading stalls and four attractions will pop up in East Princes Street Gardens. The Big Wheel, which has become a firm favourite in Edinburgh’s festive skyline, will also make an appearance in the east end of the city. Additionally, at the west end, revellers can expect to see a further 15 stall concessions and 11 attractions including the Christmas Tree Maze and a Santa’s Grotto.
