These events mark the start of the festive season, with a dedicated count-down to the transformation of London’s streets into a sparking vision of festivity. From the luxurious gold sparkles of Regent Street to the colorful displays at Carnaby Street, each year sees new themes, brand new designs and plenty of excited spectators.
Covent Garden is located in the West End of London, known for its variety of restaurants, open-air market, and shops scattered along photogenic alleys.
Right in the heart of Covent Garden, you’ll find the Apple Market, dated back to the 1800s. This is the famous sheltered piazza market and also home to some unique Christmas lights and decorations! This year sees the return of the piazza’s giant mistletoe chandeliers.
Whilst in the area, you will also be delighted to hear that Covent Garden has several of London’s famous must-see destinations, such as Neil’s Yard, Seven Dials, the London Transport Museum and the Theatre Royal.

Then, to make things even better you’ll also hear the joyful ringing of Christmas tunes in nearly every store on this famous shopping street. If you are visiting London in the lead up to Christmas, this is one place you must visit to catch this annual Christmas celebration!

As this year marks Regent Street’s 200th anniversary – this year’s event will be extra special with entertainment for all age groups. Regent Street is also known for having the biggest installation in the capital.
The whole street will be traffic-free for one evening when the Christmas Light event takes place. If you end up getting lost around the city at this magical time of the year and spot large angel lights above – you’re witnessing Christmas at Regent Street.
As the street is closed specially for the event, there will be many things happening from in-store activities to on-street surprises and live musical acts.

Just down the road from Regent Street, you will discover St James’s Street where you can find a special Christmas Light display connecting from Regent Street. The golden angels will be shining their festive golden lights from above, guiding your path from Regent Street down to St James’s Street.

If you would like to see something a bit different but full of creativity, then we would highly suggest a trip to Carnaby Street. Time Out even called this “the most fabulous” Christmas display due to its uniqueness, let us tell you why.
This year’s Christmas Light display event at Carnaby is going to be special as Carnaby has collaborated with ocean conservation charity Project 0 for their sustainable display. You can expect an underwater theme, from bright pink corals to a long whale that blows bubbles.

The festive magic will also be happening at the King’s Road this year. The light display in this affluent part of London is inspired by the crown of King Charles II, as the road was originally built as a private road for him to travel between places.
