First introduced to the world in Michael Bond’s children’s book in 1958, a very special visitor has finally made his way to Cheval Three Quays. Please meet Cheval Collection’s very own Paddington Bear, a bear who loves marmalade more than anything else in the world.
In August 2019, two new 50 pence coins were released into circulation featuring Paddington standing in front of his favourite London attractions: St Paul’s Cathedral and the iconic Tower of London, just opposite Cheval Three Quays.
To celebrate, you can join in the fun by taking Paddington Bear on a London adventure for a day, and even take selfies with him in your favourite spots.
Get to know Paddington Bear
Paddington is a fictional character created by author Michael Bond, first appearing in a book published on the 13th October 1958. Originally from Peru, he was found in London’s Paddington Station by the Brown family, hence his name: Paddington Brown. He wasn’t too sure how old he was when the Brown family met him, so he celebrates two birthdays: June 25th and December 25th!
Paddington loves to write about all his adventures in his scrapbook, full of mementos and postcards he receives from his Aunt Lucy back in Peru.
Loved by the world, Paddington books have been translated into 30 languages across 70 titles and sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
